Jeremy Botkin
OK, this is sort of along the lines of the Paleo chicken nuggets questions, but thought I would ask in a different thread for ease of searching later on. I understand we shouldn't be making coconut pancakes, pizza and the like but is it OK to add a little to recipes for thickening ? I like to use a some coconut flour with an egg, peppers and crab meat to make crab cakes.
stephmccormack
I don't see an issue with that at all.
Johnny M
Loving these questions. Part of the point of not paleo-fying your food is to be careful not to just continue bad eating habits but focus on plain whole high quality food. We want not just a nutritional reset but a mental reset as well so limit these foods when you can. Don't worry you'll get that back in a few weeks! Moderators Tom Denham Posted April 13, 2012 Moderators Share Posted April 13, 2012 Johnny M makes a good point here, but I wouldn't worry about adding some coconut or almond flour as a thickener for crab cakes.
