Packed Lunches that can't be refrigerated?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! I will be going to classes this summer for my masters, and I am not sure I will have access to a fridge to put my lunch in. What are some good lunch options for a good meal that will keep me full.

I guess I can also put an ice-pack in my lunch bag to keep stuff cooler.

What are some of your favorite packed lunch combos?

I would go with the ice-pack inside insulated lunch bag option.

With that in mind, some thoughts:

- leftovers from previous meal

- protein and a healthy sized salad with compliant dressing (protein options: sardines, cooked chicken, prosciutto, cooked turkey)
- chicken, tuna or egg salad made with paleo mayo on top of a salad

I'm going to assume that if you don't have access to a fridge, you won't have access to a microwave.

The cooler bag will give you the best flexibility (unless you like dancing with the Food Poisoning Fairy). So, go with salads and hard boiled eggs, tinned tuna/salmon, paleo mayo. The salmon fritters from ISWF are pretty good cold - again, paired with salad and avo. Roasted vegetables and cold sausages or chicken (definitely only do the chicken if you have an icepack in there - eggs and sausages would probably be ok for a few hours, but chicken can go dodgy quickly).
