srice11
I'm struggling with the timing recommended for the pre-WO meal (15-75 minutes). This seems way too close to my workout to be comfortable. I'm imagining my 1/2 mile warm up run and then I imagine myself in the back corner of the parking lot at my box puking up tuna and an avocado. I like the idea of the pre-WO meal, but would it be a huge issue to eat it say 90 minutes beforehand? Also, this is my 4th Whole30 (starting 8/1). I know from previous experience that I will get a little hungry approximately 3:30 or 4:00 no matter how much I ate at lunch, which would be super good timing for a 90 minute pre-WO meal, with my WO being at 5:30. Colleen Roy
The time recommendations are just that: recommendations. I'm guessing they are based on some scientific study of people and is based on some solid facts and results. That said, that timing might not work for you. I'd say play around with different times and see what works for you! Good luck!
Moderators Tom Denham Posted July 30, 2013 Moderators Share Posted July 30, 2013 Pre-workout meals are open to more variation than any others. If you need 90 minutes, take 90 minutes.
Moderators ultrarunnergirl Posted July 31, 2013 Moderators Share Posted July 31, 2013 Just wondering, for your Pre WO meal, are you eating half the amount protein/fat you'd eat in a meal, or a full meal-size portion? The meal template advises you do a half portion.
