Meridith Wolnick
Is tahini a Whole 30 approved ingredient? If it isn't, does anyone have ideas for a suitable replacement? I was really hoping to use up an eggplant by making Babaganoush but it calls for 2 tbs. tahini.
Derval
Found this in the blog Tahini gets a thumbs-up in technical Whole30 terms, but a serious cautionary note because of the very high content of linoleic acid (LA), the parent molecule for inflammatory omega-6 fatty acids. So, go seriously easy on the sesame seeds and sunflower seeds, and you'll be okay.

gclgal
just wondering if you found a suitable alternative or used the tahini as I am also wanting to make some babaganoush. Thanks!
Kiddersr
My hubby really likes his hummus with raw veggies and I found a substitute that uses cauliflower, but it still has tahini, so maybe he can have it as part of a veggilicious lunch?
laura_juggles
Yes, tahini is okay as long as it doesn't have anything non-compliant in it. Just like with all the other seeds, though, just don't use a whole lot of it all the time
