Cdodo
Hi! I just finished my whole 30 and reintroduced almond butter. I cut nuts out on day 2 because I over eat them as well as dried fruit. After reintroduction I started experiencing digestive distress from them. Its the first/only food item I added back in. I've never had a problem with them before this and ate paleo for 2 years prior to whole30. Can you create food intollerences from eliminating foods for a period of time? Moderators LadyM Posted July 27, 2014 Moderators Share Posted July 27, 2014 I don't have a direct answer to your question, but nuts are notoriously difficult to digest. Is it possible that now you're more attuned to your body and can therefore pinpoint the distress whereas before you didn't notice it?
Tina R
The skin on the almonds can also cause problems. Have you tried soaking your almonds and removing the skins before eating them? I believe you have to do this with unroasted almonds. I think almond milk is blanched and the skins are removed so you could try drinking some almond milk to see if you have the same problem.
