cindabadger
Hello, I am on day 2 of my Whole30 challenge and realized a supplement I have been taking has rice bran extract and hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (found to be adequate replacement for animal gelatin and an alternative to gluten found in wheat flower). As the hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (code E464) is synthetic and used to form the capsule. If i were to only use the contents of the capsule am I in the clear? Is rice bran extract whole30 compliant? Thank you! Cinda
Administrators ladyshanny Posted June 2, 2015 Administrators Share Posted June 2, 2015 No, rice bran extract is not compliant. Rice (and all of its components) is a grain and grains are not permitted on Whole30.
cindabadger
Ok. I wasn't sure because rice wine vinegar is permitted and what I've researched about rice bran, it seems to be good for you.
Moderators Tom Denham Posted June 2, 2015 Moderators Share Posted June 2, 2015 You can always find research proving that available foods are "good for you." The Whole30 is based upon competing research.
