LetsDoThis
I about to start my first week ever on Whole30 and I'm really excited, but I ran into an issue. I found this wonderful chicken and spinach ravioli (made from yellow squash) recipe. Everything is compliant except the Marscapone cheese, does anyone have any idea what I could sub to keep the moisture. I was thinking of blending avocado and mushrooms together but was worried it would make the dish taste funky.
jmcbn
Would a tomato based sauce not work rather than a cheese substitute?Have you a link to the recipe? I'd question if the ravioli, even if made from compliant ingredients, wouldn't fall into SWYPO territory....The best approach to Whole30 is not to find compliant subs for your current/former foods, but rather to look at what you eat in a new way. LetsDoThis
It isn't trying to be ravioli that is just the quick name. It is thin slices of squash holding ground chicken and spinach. The cheese is in the mix. I thought about omitting it, but I think it'll dry out the mix. As for sauce I'm making a tomato one. JenMc14
Could you do cashew "cheese"? That might veer into SWYPO territory, though.
