kade428
I used 2tbsp of RealLime in a salsa recipe. Is that okay? Or does it have to be from a fresh squeezed Lime? If it does have a sulphate do I have to start over? What Sulphates are we not allowed?
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted June 17, 2015 Moderators Share Posted June 17, 2015 Last time I checked, RealLime had sodium metabisulfite, which would not be allowed on a Whole30. There may be some brand of lime juice out there that is compliant, but I usually just buy limes, it's easier than reading all the labels. For a list of what additives are and are not allowed, check out the Common Additives Cheat Sheet. For whether or not you need to start over, read this article and then decide. Moderators Tom Denham Posted June 17, 2015 Moderators Share Posted June 17, 2015 I use a brand of lime and lemon juice that is just juice, so they exist. No sulphate is okay as it is a terrible gut irritant.
