Moderators ShannonM816 Posted September 20, 2015 Moderators Share Posted September 20, 2015 Don't log your food, don't count calories. Follow the meal planning template and you'll be fine. This article has more on why Whole30 doesn't have you count calories.
texasbred
Good news! If you do the program correctly there is no need to count calories. Yay! Have you read "It Starts With Food"? It tells you all you need to know.

Allia
I think it depends on your individual needs so no one can answer this question for everyone here.
missmary
Not really counting just using my fitness pal while logging no. my fitness pal is not ok on the whole30. When people here are talking about food logs, they are usually referring to a journal that they have created on the forum (the "my whole30 log" section). Listing what foods have been eaten, and activities and reactions can be very helpful in seeing correlations in how food impacts satiety, energy and emotions, etc. Counting calories or logging food in an ap distracts people from seeing how food is really making them feel--they second guess how much to eat based on numerical feedback. Don't rob yourself of one of the major benefits of the program by counting and logging in an ap. Start paying attention to how you feel instead. NancyW
Ok! Sounds good I will concentrate on food and how I feel! Thanks You won't be sorry! It's so freeing to skip that. As a former Weight Watcher member, I can tell you I don't miss the tracking! And I feel SO much better in just 20 days on Whole30 that I ever did on WW.
