Zyriel
Should I make a special effort to avoid carrageenan during dairy re-intro, or allow it since it's so ubiquitous in milk/cream products? From what I found in trying to search for his question, carrageenan doesn't tend to cause reactions, it's just best avoided?
GFChris
Actually carrageenan is a big gut disruptor. Plus, when you reintro, the idea is to reintro only one food group at a time, keeping all else Whole30 compliant. If you don't, and you have a reaction, you won't know the cause. There are lots of dairy options without carrageenan. Milk, half & half, butter, hard and soft cheeses, and yogurt are among the choices.
Zyriel
Ok, thank you! I think I can avoid it while still consuming a food that is like what I would otherwise have had.
