Campbgra
Hello everyone! I'm at whole foods (again) and I know Sea Snac is approved. So I'm looking at the Crunchy Seaweed Chips-but I thought chips weren't ok? But now I'm looking at Plantain chips and all they have is plantains, sea salt, and evoo? What's up with that? Administrators ladyshanny Posted January 13, 2016 Administrators Share Posted January 13, 2016 No commercially prepared chips are permitted. Sea Snax, I believe, use the word "chip" but they are just sheets of salted nori, correct? If it's something besides that, no go. EDITED TO ADD: those "crunchy seaweed chips" are most definitely not approved. I just googled them and they are a chip replacement made with rice flour and rice bran oil. No go. Sea Snax are just sheets of nori (seaweed), sometimes salted and those are permitted. Always, always check your ingredients.
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted January 13, 2016 Moderators Share Posted January 13, 2016 If you're looking at the Sea Snax labeled Chompers, I'm pretty sure those are not OK ingredient wise. What are OK are at least some flavors of the seaweed sheets, which are really not at all like chips. Commercially prepared plantain chips are not OK regardless of ingredients.
