amygrace5
Hi! I'm brand new to whole30. I do eat meat (no pork products), but I do not want to eat it every day for every meal. Does anyone have any good resources or vegetarian meal ideas that meet the whole30 requirements? I'm so used to cooking with tofu, beans, and tempeh! Thanks! Moderators Tom Denham Posted February 28, 2016 Moderators Share Posted February 28, 2016 If you are going to do a Whole30, you are going to eat a palm-size portion of animal protein at each meal. The Whole30 approach to meal composition is explicit: http://whole30.com/downloads/whole30-meal-planning.pdf
amygrace5
I understand that the rules are explicit, thank you. I've read all of the rules and understand them. I also understand that there is a Whole30 for vegetarians, I was hoping there were other alternatives for protein, besides animal protein. I do not want to include soy in my diet. Moderators ShannonM816 Posted February 29, 2016 Moderators Share Posted February 29, 2016 This article addresses vegetarian choices, but if you eat any animal protein you're better off doing a true whole30 with those animal proteins, and then doing reintroductions to see how you react to things like legumes or dairy, so that you can decide based on that how often you want to include those options going forward: http://whole30.com/2015/06/veg-whole30/ You may want to focus on things like eggs or fish for something that may feel lighter or less meaty, but still provides enough protein. This article has some tips for people not used to eating meat every day: http://whole9life.com/2013/02/eating-meat-a-primer-for-the-meat-challenged-2/
