KB2016
Can I have Polysorbate 60? I found this in my coconut milk ingredients and its used as an emulsifier.
GFChris
You might want to avoid it based on this thread. http://forum.whole30.com/topic/1905-these-coconut-milk-additives/ Also, check to see if sodium metabisulphite is listed as an ingredient. Pretty much any coconut milks asked about in the past that had polysorbate 60 also had this ingredient. Sodium metabisulfite is off limits on a Whole30. KB2016
Thanks for the input. The only ingredients in this was Cocnut Water. Xanthan Gum and Plysorbate 60. I will try to look for something else but in Mexico amazingly enough it seems to be very limited. My "organic" coconut milk had a ton more no-nos in it and it was $8 USD! Betsy Ribera
Hello KB2016 - I live in Mexico City and am about to start Whole30. I too am having trouble finding coconut milk with no additives in Mexico. I'm wondering if you ever found a brand that worked? Any other special tips for Whole30 in Mexico? I'm especially interested in recipes with uniquely Mexican ingredients or Whole30 recipes in Spanish. Thank you!
