Bmill7785
Looking to add a little flavor to my herbal tea, is lemon juice from a bottle ok? Ingredients are listed as lemon juice from concentrate, water, concentrated lemon juice and less than 2% sodium benzonate, sodium metabisulfate and sodium sulfite and lemon oil...thanks! Moderators ShannonM816 Posted April 9, 2016 Moderators Share Posted April 9, 2016 Anything that ends in "sulfite" is not okay, sulfites are one of the things specifically not allowed in the rules. If you manage to find bottled lemon juice that doesn't contain any off plan ingredients, it would be fine, but it's hard to find. It's usually easier just to buy actual lemons. jent103
My grocery stores have organic lemon juice with nothing added. It's twice the price of ReaLemon or store brand, but no sulfites, and given what I use it for, cheaper than buying all the lemons!
