tmhampton1
Hi all - I know that I'm supposed to eat 1 - 3 cups of veggies with each meal, but is that before or after it's cooked? I have found that I don't eat raw veggies at all very well, and I know that greens and cabbage shrink when cooked...so is it 1 - 3 cups cooked or raw? Sorry if this is a stupid question. I have been satiated when I eat so I feel like I must be doing something right.
jmcbn
When cooked. The 1-3 cups is only a guideline so that people DO actually eat veggies. We'd actually prefer that you plate your protein, FILL the remainder of your (full sized dinner) plate with veggies, and then add your fat.If it's salad you need a serving bowl for it to be enough. Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted April 14, 2016 Moderators Share Posted April 14, 2016 Cooked is a better reference for things that shrink... they're usually more water-ful so if you consider the serving cooked, that's dense nutrition... Don't stress too much about measuring tho... 1-3 cups is a suggestion so if you aim in there, cooked or not, you're going to be okay!
