Dcpink
Sometimes I get home late (10/10:30 pm) and I'm really hungry (had dinner at 6). Is it ok to eat something?
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted May 18, 2016 Moderators Share Posted May 18, 2016 Yes, if you're hungry enough it would distract you and keep you from being able to sleep, have something. Try to have a mini meal of some protein, fat, and vegetables, or at least two of the three, just smaller servings than a full meal. Do pay attention to if it affects your sleep at all -- if you find you're not sleeping as well on nights you have food that late, you might be better off having a larger supper or a mini meal earlier than when you get home. If you're prone to heartburn or acid reflux, note that eating too close to bed time can make that worse.

Fat and protein are the best two but ideally you would have all three.
