OncoWarrior 22
I felt the need to take a break from so much protein yesterday - - so I did. Vegetable soup for breakfast, Big salad for lunch, cooked veggies which included an almond cauliflower with coconut flakes item. It felt good. Back on track today. Anyone else have this happen? GFChris 5983
What prompted your desire to take a break from animal protein? Texture? Taste? Ethical reasons? Other? Folks might be able to help you with this challenge, if we know what the hurdles are for you.
OncoWarrior 22
GFChris, I don't know. I just did not want any protein that day. Just the thought of it made me feel heavy, and I wanted to lighten up my food that day. And so I did. I did not see this as a "challenge" or a problem; just a curiosity. It was only one day. Every day is important though when trying to build new habits, hence the Whole30 advice to eat some of all the items in a template meal (eat around the plate) even if you have to save the rest for later. PhysicsHippie 41
I felt the need to take a break from so much protein yesterday - - so I did. Vegetable soup for breakfast, Big salad for lunch, cooked veggies which included an almond cauliflower with coconut flakes item. It felt good. Back on track today. Anyone else have this happen? I have to say, some days I feel like the protein can bog me down a bit... I TOTALLY get where you're coming from. I just... don't really want it sometimes. I'm on my third round now and it's happened a couple times. What I do is I have lighter proteins such as fish-chicken-eggs. I really don't have red meat all too often as it is, but I know I should to vary the types of micronutrients I'm getting, so I have it a couple days a week. Anyway, I just wanted to say that you're not alone. I still force myself to eat protein, even if I don't really feel like it, because otherwise I get the hangry-monster on my back without it!
