friedna4
Hello, just had a GoGo Squeece applesauce and looked at the ingredient list: apple, apple juice concentrate and lemon juice concentrate then take a look at the Sugars in the nutrition facts where i found 12g of sugar. So did I break the rules? Thanks in advance.
Administrators ladyshanny Posted September 6, 2016 Administrators Share Posted September 6, 2016 The ingredients list is the king that rules! If there was no sugar listed, it's fine. Careful with how you are using the applesauce, you should consider it a fruit serving and fruit comes with a "1-2 fist sized servings per day, never alone, always with meals" recommendation. friedna4
Thank you! Today is my first day and I had a quick Whole30 approved snack to hold me off until my lunch since I read in the book that it was OK to do so. Plan on having a protein salad and fruit come lunch break.
Administrators ladyshanny Posted September 6, 2016 Administrators Share Posted September 6, 2016 It definitely is alright to have something if you cannot make it from meal to meal. The best practice is to learn to create your meals so that they will keep you going for 4-5 hours without having to snack. Until you can get there (first day seems unrealistic to expect that), having a mini-meal is fine. We recommend that you not eat fruit or fruit products on their own as they really do nothing for you besides spike your blood sugar, possibly leading to further troubles later in the day (fatigue, crash, cravings, false hunger). A mini-meal is, ideally, a small version of a template meal. If you can't manage protein, fat and veggies, your best bet for best results is either protein and fat or protein and veggies. Happy Day One!
friedna4
One more question, thank you again but I made the ranch last night, threw it in the fridge and it's hard. I assume I will have to leave it out of the fridge to serve on salads/use as dipping sauce. Is this OK or will it go bad quicker? Thanks!
Administrators ladyshanny Posted September 6, 2016 Administrators Share Posted September 6, 2016 @friedna4 - sorry, what's in the ranch? If you used coconut oil or coconut milk or even olive oil, they can solidify in the fridge. A rapid stirring after sitting out a few minutes should do it?
