ouiser
While going through the Whole30 reset last year (3x), I avoided using my DoTERRA supplements because they contain soy. A friend who also uses DoTERRA told me that the company has to list soy as an ingredient even though the allergen components of soy have been removed. She thinks it's fine to continue using the supplements while on Whole30. I do not. Does anyone else have an opinion or insight? TIA!
Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted January 2, 2017 Moderators Share Posted January 2, 2017 No, sorry, no soy of any kind, even if it claims to have been de-soy-ifyed (totally made up word). We don't make sub rules for any of the items on the no list... even if they claim to be less than 2% or manufactured to make them inert... If it's listed in the ingredients and on the 'no' list, it's a no for the 30 days.
praxisproject
Also check your ingredients carefully, quite a few DoTerra products have some odd ingredients, including not just soy but also things like carrageenan (used in a tablet form of all things!) which is not compliant. ouiser
Thank you, praxisproject! Yes, I just was reading ingredients on the OnGuard lozenges. They are a no-go as well. I appreciate your help. Take care!
huliganjetta
I'm so glad you asked this! I saw that a doTERRA supplement I like (and another for allergies that I sometimes need) both have carrageenan, and non-GMO corn starch. So I'm guessing those are out
ouiser
Hi Huliganjetta! Yeah, in the spirit of Whole30, if it's listed in the ingredients, it'a a no-go. I'm glad I wasn't alone in having this question!
