LauraOC
Checking on this recipe. It's been posted as a Whole30 recipe online & in a FB group I'm in. Is this actually compliant? Sounds like too much fruit juice used in a questionable way to be truly Whole30. Is this another case of personal responsibility, but though technically compliant, not in the spirit of the program? Any guidance would be appreciated. http://www.foodfaithfitness.com/sticky-slow-cooker-chicken-wings-with-pineapple-5-spice-sauce/
Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted April 10, 2017 Moderators Share Posted April 10, 2017 Yes, technically compliant due to ingredients but I think this is pushing the envelope in a major way. That's going to be a crazy sugar bomb... not only do I think it'll rev up a sugar dragon, I think the desire for a nice IPA to cut the sweet will be extremely difficult to avoid... The whole30 says a date or a splash of fruit juice to sweeten a recipe, not 2 1/4cups of the sweetest juice out there to soak and cook your food in... yikes! Use your own judgement here but I would caution you to stay far away!
LauraOC
Thank you @SugarcubeOD! That is exactly what the other FB group moderators & I thought, too. We just weren't sure how to proceed with an official reply. We appreciate your input!
