Still can't sleep good

Recommended Posts

Day 21 W30 - I have slept only one good restfull night since starting, and 2 full nights but not really restfull and the rest of the time I still wake up by 2:00 a.m. and won't go back to sleep. I get up around 6:00 and feel ok and I can go on my day better than before I started. I will go to bed around 10:00 p.m., sometimes 11:00 p.m. I had already quit gluten, dairies a few months before starting, coffe, sugar and chocolate a couple of weeks before starting and was never a big sugar eater. So, I know it has nothing to do with this. I eat the 3 meals a day and sometimes I snack if I feel I need to. However, I think I would have so much more energy if I could sleep restfull nights. In one of the post I saw a comment about "Natural Calm" so I ordered it and can't wait to receive it. I do see many positive sides of the W30 but how I wish I could sleep. Do you have suggestions others than using Natural Calm which I can't wait to receive and try.

There are a few articles about sleep on Whole30 that you might want to take a look at:

If you're getting up around 6 am, are you eating your first meal by 7? It's really important to eat within an hour of waking up to help get your hormones sorted out. (Here's a brief explanation of why: https://www.thepaleomom.com/is-breakfast-really-most-important-meal/) Eat within an hour of waking up, get out into the sunshine for a few minutes as early in the day as you can whenever possible, and follow the sleep hygiene tips in those other articles.

There are some experts here who will know way more than me, but some advice from a bad sleeper:

I use the “Calm” app - there’s a free version - and it helps me fall asleep lightning fast. I get tired earlier on w30- I can’t stay up til 11 anymore- maybe sleep sooner? There are some nice sleepytime teas, check the labels for stevia. Reduce the blue light usage (phones / screens) before bed.

Lastly I know for myself that my bad habits had been ongoing for way more than 30 days. So it may take longer than a whole30 to right things. If you are having more energy that’s positive!
