kah237
So I know this sounds obvious, because barley isn't allowed...but since the tea ends up having no calories, maybe the carbs don't end up in the tea? Mugicha (Japanese barley tea) is supposedly healthy, and kind of amazing for summer. I'm not trying to get around the rules, just confused/unsure. And if barley tea is a no-go I'd love suggestions for a good refreshing substitute.
Moderators Tom Denham Posted June 15, 2012 Moderators Share Posted June 15, 2012 You're right... barley is out and barley tea is too. I recently discovered the Tulsi teas. I really like the Mango, Peppermint, and Vanilla (but those are the only 3 I've tried). And then my longtime favorite tea is Tazo Wild Sweet Orange. Dragonwelll
A great roasty toasty substitute for Barley tea that is almost caffeine free is Japanese Hojicha. Tastes great, and most of the caffeine has been roasted out. Also yummy cold. My fav source is dens tea.com
