arnica for joint pain? any thoughts

I broke my elbow (bottom of the humerus) a year ago and have some arthritis from the break and surgery. A friend recommended arnica (sold at whole foods). Has anyone tried this? Any thoughts or recommendations?

I was taking osteo Bi-flex but decided to forgo that during my whole 30. I am also going to start taking curcumin (turmeric) per the recommendation on the supplements page.

I'd appriciate any insight!

I've used both arnica gel and arnica cream on the whole family from everything from joint pain to healing wounds and personally, I swear by it.

I agree with Kirsteen - I have an arnica gel and used it when I threw out my back - that stuff is magic. Plus it smells amazing.

Thanks! Would you recommend the gel/cream over a pill? When it was originally suggested to me I believe they told me it was a pill.

I like the gel, mostly because it smells so good. But I've never actually used it in pill form so can't really compare.

It's also great for treating bruises! I bruise a lot. Haha!

I trashed my ankle in 2006, ended crutches for four and a half months. Along with a lot of pain, I was bruised from the tips of my toes to my knee. I used Arnica topically and I took the Arnica pellets made by Boiron. I would highly recommend using both.
