Salsa?

I apologize if this question has been answered already, but I sifted through 4 pages of threads and did not see a question for whether or not I can eat salsa.

I live in Texas people, home of Tex-Mex. I'm on Day 6 and am doing great (even with Easter yesterday!) but would LOVE some restaurant made salsa (and yes, I plan to ask if they use sugar in their salsa, and if they do I'll pass).

I think most salsa recipes would be fine, but you would need to ask about ingredients. Sugar is a real possibility.

Make your own! Simple is best. Ripe tomato, finely chopped onion, garlic if you like that in your salsa, cilantro, juice a lime, add a dash of salt/pepper. I think all these ingredients are whole30 compliant. I make a cup at time and it last for a few days (family of 3 adults). We use on eggs, meats, salad.

Do you use some kind of a blender or food processor for your homemade salsa?

I don't use a blender or food processor. I suppose you could use it for the other ingredients, but it would turn the tomatoes to mush. Also, I make in fairly small quantities so it is hardly worth the time to clean the cuisinart :-)

My new favorite kitchen tool is an immersion blender. I make mayonnaise in a plastic cup in less than 5 minutes. You could make salsa in about 5 minutes too.

My favorite salsa recipe uses the blender. Put in 1 can of diced tomatoes, 1 good handful of cilantro, and 1 to 2 canned jalapenos, whole or cut up not sliced. Blend, add some lime and salt......yummy! Every time I makes this for people they go crazy for it.
