scrapstitching
I have always experienced very high fasting blood sugars (think mid to high 200s). Begin Whole30 FBS 05/01/13 05/02/13 239 05/03/13 202 05/04/13 177 05/05/13 05/06/13 207 05/07/13 226 05/08/13 173 05/09/13 197 05/10/13 209 05/11/13 163 05/12/13 143 05/13/13 173 The trend since starting the W30 is a downward one. As a comparison: This is before W30 04/09/13 218 04/10/13 210 04/11/13 196 04/16/13 280 04/18/13 350 04/20/13 266 04/21/13 237 04/22/13 282 04/23/13 287 04/30/13 310 My doctor advised W30 and though my FBS is still on the high side, it's better for me. My BS the rest of the day is within normal limits. I do take meds, exercise regularly, and have lost 60 pounds, so I'm doing the right things. But I think now, I'm doing a "righter" thing. Beets
That's great. My dad has Diabetes type 2 and I wish he'd change his diet. But he's still in denial (he never ate a lot of sweets, that was my mom) and he eats pretty much the exact opposite of any Diabetes dietary advice, nevermind anything close to a w30. Good for you for taking your health into your own hands!
namakani
That's awesome! My blood sugars after meals are usually better than my FBS as well. Keep at it!

EchoDelta
Those are very high numbers for fasting blood sugars so congrats on the improvement. I do hope you continue to stay on course. I'm a type 1 diabetic who began eating Paleo last August after struggling for years with my blood sugars and the amount of insulin I use. Currently I've cut my daily insulin intake by nearly 90% and my fasting blood sugars are in the 80s now. They used to be in the 150 to 170s.
