missuswayne
Today is the 23rd day of my 2nd Whole30. This one has been tough as I have been pretty stressed for most of it, but I've been hanging in there and making good choices. The last week has been particularly tough, and today, was an especially bad day. I had some sweet potato at dinner thinking, maybe I need a little carb boost. Nope, it was tasty but that didn't do it for me. I still felt low in mood and energy. I've been desperate for some chocolate so I decided what the hell, I'll make some non-compliant avocado chocolate pudding (this stuff) and HOLY SMOKES. I felt like a new person afterward. It was a little sweeter than I would have liked, BUT it really changed my mood and energy. (Up until now on this Whole30 I've kept my "treats" to an apple with almond butter or some other piece of fruit.) So, my question: Was it the fats in the avocado? The mood-elevating cocoa? The sweetness from the maple syrup/dates? What gave me the boost?
