JessR
I've just been reading the insulin/leptin section in 'it starts with food', at this point I think I need some clearing up. I've heard (from others I know who have done the whole30 and have adopted this way of eating for life) about havng a protein only day. A few friends did their whole 30 together and they said they started it with 2 protein only days to deplete their body of the carb stores and to get their bodies burning fat. As I read the insulin/leptin section of the book I thought "ah ok so now I know why they did that". Question is: is that ok to do? I'm starting whole30 tomorrow. Laura Jeanne Penrod
I'd like to know. So no veggies either?
JessR
Yeah they only had protein for 2 days, to deplete the carb-sugar stores. Sounded kind of strange so I thought I'd just ask.
Adagio
I don't know about how that fits into Whole30, but I've heard of a folks who are doing low carb or Paleo who eat meat/eggs only for a few days at a time. The meat/eggs have to be the highest quality, and cooked in CO or ghee. I tried it once but it wasn't to my liking.
kayell
You could always do meat/fish/eggs. fats, and lot's of leafy veg (they're very low carb). That would also deplete your carb stores AND be W30.
