organiclover
Many diets support research with fat loss while taking GLA and CLA. I know that the CLA is from safflower oil and the GLA is from Black currant seed oil and that Whole30 does not advocate taking seed oils. However, I was just wondering if these were different because there is a lot of research showing fat loss from taking them? Does anyone know? Just was curious. Thanks! Amy
I'm not a moderator, but I can tell you aside from these seed oils, you can increase your intake of these with grass fed meats as well. From Dr. Perricone's web site: At one time, beef and lamb were exceptional sources of CLA; however when their diet was changed from grass to grain, levels of CLA dramatically decreased in meat and dairy products. The average American diet causes a deficiency of GLA because of the large amounts of trans fatty acids, sugar, grain-fed red meats and dairy products that are consumed. Robin Strathdee
I would definitely look into non-seed oil sources of these compounds.
Susan W
Tallow from grass fed cows is another great source. Fatworks (where I get my tallow and duck fat) has a great Fat Manifesto on their facebook page that is very informative.
