Lizitea
Dear Friends Is this a "no no" -- I've been having 2-3 dates after lunch and dinner. They don't seem to increase my sweet tooth or make me want to eat more. thanks felicity
amberino21
Dates, like other fruit, are recommended with a meal, which is what you're doing. I think it's ok as long as they aren't something you "need", or start to sneak in between meals. If you're eagerly awaiting the end of your main meal so you can have the dates, I'd consider not eating them. Dates are also very calorie dense, so you may want to limit them if weight loss is your intention. Just like vegies, a wider variety of fruit would give you a broad range of nutrients. Moderators Tom Denham Posted December 18, 2013 Moderators Share Posted December 18, 2013 I went through a phase when I ate one or two dates after lunch and supper every day. I had bought a big container of them at a Persian grocery and wanted to use them. I did finish the container, but I've never bought another one. Dates are a lot of calories for a modest amount of nutrition. They are not a good idea whether they ignite sugar cravings for you or not.
