Zingano
I've just made some tomato ketchup. Ingredients (for a large passata-sized jar) - 6 tomatoes, jar of passata, 1 onion, 3 cloves garlic, some cider vinegar, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, spices (cinnamon, allspice, a little cloves), 3 fresh dates. Is this OK on whole 30? I intend to use just a tablespoon or two as a sauce for fried fish.

Zingano
It tastes fab Tom! (I did have a little taste). Just like making mayonnaise - I'm not going to be going back to shop-made. Next up brown sauce (HP). Do you get that in the States?

Zingano
Certainly will. this suggests a base of apples and prunes, but I think looking at wikipedia I'll be adding some tamarind. http://allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/20111/fruity-brown-sauce.aspx http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_sauce Here's another version that looks interesting: http://www.theweekendartisan.co.uk/my-fruity-brown-sauce Don't know why they need all that sugar when there are dates and prunes in it!
