Macadame
Decided to buy Ghee yesterday at Trader Joe's. The label says it contains milk !?! Does this mean it's not compliant?
missmary
ghee and clarified butter are the only dairy that is ok on the whole30.
Vian
They have to put that on the label because it is derived from a dairy product and there may be trace amounts of milk solids in it, just so they don't get sued. It's allowed for whole30 though.

tj2650
Ghee may have trace amounts of milk protein. Due to allergies where some people react when there are only 5 parts per million, the FDA requires anything made from an allergen to be labelled. Badwolf
One of my favorite paleo-related activities is to make my own clarified butter. And it's super easy! Try it the Michelle Tam way... http://nomnompaleo.com/post/15235810877/d-i-y-ghee
