HolleyKT
Hey everyone! I am on day 11 of my first Whole30 experience and LOVING IT! I had a question about a restaurant near me that makes a KILLER pozole verde soup. BUT I saw how they make it and they use "corn stock"... Basically they make a stock out of corn, but there is no actual corn in the soup. Would that technically count against me to have some? I'm not familiar with what all in corn is out of the question further than it being a genetically modified grain. But if I'm not eating the grain itself, is it still out? Just curious and can't find a dang thing about corn stock anywhere! Thanks guys.
AmyS
Pozole is corn, and the stock is corn, so Pozole is out, sorry.
Moderators Tom Denham Posted May 4, 2014 Moderators Share Posted May 4, 2014 The problem with corn is not whether it is genetically modified or not, organic or not, but rather that it is a grain and some people have problems with it.
praxisproject
Eating corn of any kind gives me problems with my sinuses, arthritis and sometimes just itchy. I never knew until I did Whole30
HolleyKT
Corn has upset my stomach in the past too! I just wasnt sure weather or not boiling it for stock would give the same effect. But I will not chance it during my Whole 30 experience! Thanks for the replies (:
