DuckMama
Hey there. Today (at 12:20am) is my first day of the Whole30. I am really excited to learn about how foods are impacting my health, but also am realizing in the forums that I have some unique factors to keep in line. 1) Ethical vegetarian 2) I have RA (or more specifically inflammatory arthritis, not otherwise specified Rheumatoid factor negative), so will use the AIP shopping list where it overlaps with veg (but will likely keep a decent amount of eggs) 3) I am low weight (according to my doctors) and trying to put it on Between the AIP shopping list and this article on keeping weight on doing the W30, http://whole30.com/2013/12/keeping-weight-whole30/, I am feeling confident. I find that my comfortable state is being overprepared. Please let me know if you have brilliant starter tips for me like how to start loving hemp and chia, which I have never eaten. Do olives and almonds on a bed of greens count as a mini meal if I need one? All feedback welcome. Thanks, DuckMama
MeadowLily
Bone Broth would be a great starter and would help with items 2) and 3).
missmary
haha. lily, I'm guessing a vegetarian wouldn't want to eat broth made of animal bones... Olive and almonds with greens is missing protein. Olives, almonds and hard boiled eggs with greens would be a good mini-meal. for tips on gaining or maintaining weight during the whole30, take a look at this article: http://whole30.com/2013/12/keeping-weight-whole30/
