KristenD
How much nut butter and nuts are too much?
GFChris
Nuts are recommended to be limited as a fat on a Whole30. The serving size of nuts is a closed handful. The serving size of nut butters is 1-2 thumb sized amounts. If you find yourself eating more than the recommend portion size, having digestive issues, eating nut butter from the jar, mindlessly snacking on nuts and/or nuts to be your primary fat, those all would be indications that you're having too many nuts. Moderators Tom Denham Posted July 17, 2015 Moderators Share Posted July 17, 2015 Here is another guideline: If you eat nuts or nut butters every day, it is too much. When we advise limiting a food, we mean that you should not eat it every day and you should not exceed portion sizes ever.
MeadowLily
Melissa @Whole9 says March 12, 2012 at 2:24 pm We don’t have a post specifically on nuts and seeds, but we talk about them at every workshop. The potential for overconsumption is ripe with that food group too, so if you find you are no longer in control of your food, it’s time to take control. Get them (NUTS) out of your house and choose other fat sources until you get your cravings under control Melissa
