MeganMansfield
So I purchased some raw almonds and raw pecans, I just realized that on the back under the nutrition facts it says Sugar 1 g but under the ingredients it just says Pecans/ Almonds, can I still have them? missmary
yes. Many people find nuts to be a food without breaks, so I wouldn't plan to snack on them, but moderate portions of these with meals is fine. For future reference, the important thing to look at is the ingredients list. If no sugar or sugar substitute is listed you are good to go, even if the nutrition facts has some sugar. The sugar in the nutrition facts is naturally occurring in the nuts.

MicheleDraaistra
Are all nuts okay? or should we stay away from any in particular?
Moderators ultrarunnergirl Posted October 21, 2015 Moderators Share Posted October 21, 2015 Best choices are macadamia nuts (pretty expensive) and hazelnuts. Best way to use them is chopped up and added to salads, etc. Use like a condiment rather than eating straight. It's hard to stop at the appropriate serving. Sleeve
A few raw macadamias in a sweet potato hash, if you don't mind the texture difference, is a good way to get that crunch as well. I put enough things into my hash that the nuts cannot dominate.
