Slow cooker reccomendations

Recommended Posts

No point recommending brands since I'm in the UK but... I have a cheap, basic supermarket own-brand one (thanks to my folks), but I use a timer plug* with it so I can make it switch on/off as needed - the models with built-in timers seemed quite a lot more expensive. So that's an idea for you the timer is a feature you're interested in.

I received this one: http://www.amazon.com/Crock-Pot-SCR500SS-5-Quart-Manual-Stainless/dp/B001DIXFAA/ref=sr_1_6?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1348089506&sr=1-6&keywords=crockpot

and another as Christmas gifts in the same year and used this one for all my cooking. I just recently opened my other crockpot (that has a timer). I would get one that is at least 5 qts. It's $10 more than the 3 qt but you will definitely want the larger size. You could post on facebook that you want one, maybe one of your friends has an extra lying around. :)

I have this one. http://www.amazon.co...ywords=crockpot

I love it. It's great to have the programable dials so you can set it and walk away. When it times out, it just stays on warm. I just throw a whole spaghetti squash in it with no water or anything and it's perfectly baked 4-6 hours later (depending on whether I do it on low or high).
