MHamKY04
I just got some Nutpods and was so excited to try them! However, after one cup of coffee I experienced SEVERE gastrointestinal distress. Has anyone else had this issue? Same breakfast as always, nothing else was different. I am sooo disappointed. I had already tried Wilderness Farms Coconut Cream (which had xanthan gum) and had the same problem so was hoping for better results. I just don't love the chunky canned coconut milk that won't stay mixed.
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted June 20, 2016 Moderators Share Posted June 20, 2016 I haven't tried those yet, but if you use the canned coconut milk and blend it with the coffee in a blender or with an immersion blender or frother, it won't separate. jmcbn
If you had GI distress with the coconut cream & the nut-pod contained coconut too, then maybe you have a problem with coconut?Just a thought...
MHamKY04
You may be right that I have a problem with coconut, I had been thinking about that possibility but was in denial... I seem to be ok with just straight up coconut milk in the can but don't like the texture, so I will try the immersion blender trick and see if that works better for me. If my stomach continues to bother me I will probably try making almond milk or just switch to plain green tea! Thanks for the suggestions!
DMKC
Just an FYI, coconut milk when put in the refrigerator makes it separate out. The top portion becomes coconut creme and the bottom part is coconut water. You can use the creme in recipes.
