Celticmermaid
Hi everyone! Since my husband does a lot of the shopping while I manage our coffee shop I don't know how easy it will be for me to get him to read labels. He not only shops for our home but also for our coffee shop. Does anyone know a few brands of sausage and or bacon that are compliant that I can have him get at either, walmart, publix, Sam's, or Winn Dixie? Moderators Tom Denham Posted August 30, 2016 Moderators Share Posted August 30, 2016 Compliant sausage and bacon are hard to find. Also, we avoid recommending brands because we have found vendors sometimes change the ingredients and sometimes offer different ingredients in products in different regions. So it is essential to check ingredient labels regardless of whether a product is supposed to be compliant or not.
lindsey1125
As Tom said, definitely have him check ingredients just in case it's not the same across the board. But I've found Maverick Farms has a sugar free bacon, Jones Dairy Farm has a breakfast sausage that's frozen, or Aidell's has chicken and apple sausage that's delicious. Celticmermaid
Thanks for the help guys! I'm looking forward to the eighth. Starting to eat as close to compliant as I can with vacation coming up.
Robertaworley
Making your own breakfast sausage is pretty easy and simple. I've used ground round and I've also used my Cuisinart with a recipe for sausage from the booklet that came with it. Let me know if you'd like the recipe. Karen_Suep
Primal palate has a breakfast sausage recipe that's amazing and slightly spicy, just the way I like it. If you want less spicy you can always cut back on the cayenne
