Rebecca30
So I am going to the movies with some friends tomorrow (day 7) and I have been trying to think of a small snack to bring with that could be stashed in my pocket. Any suggestions?? So far I have thought of nuts. I am bringing iced tea in my purse. LOL
jennrider
Make sure you eat a good meal before you go. I'm cheap so I usually don't even by food at the movies. I get a bottle if water, but that's it. It's too easy for me to mindlessly shovel food in if I eat while watching TV or a movie.
Carlaccini
I went to the movies too this week. I made Coconut chips! Kind of like popcorn, but not really. Get a cup of large flaked coconut put in a med-high temp dry fry pan and toast for about 3 minutes. You could do all kinds of seasonings but my personal fav is 1/4 tsp each: salt, chili powder, paprika, and garlic powder. Sometimes I even toast pumpkin seeds through it as well. I've even tossed a handful of raisins in it for a sweet & salty snack. This recipe is from Melissa Joulwan's cookbook Well Fed. Rebecca30
Sounds amazing! I saw that in the book and then sort of forgot about it because I cant find large flake coconut. Where do you find it?
Suzy
How about some jerky, Trader Joe's Just Dried Mango, and a handful of hazelnuts? Don't peel an orange in the movie theater; people will know what you're doing.
