Elechdub
I added sweet potatoes and nuts back into regular rotation and noticed that I feel super bloated the day after I eat them. I also start craving them. I'll have a sweet potato with breakfast and then I'll want more and more and more all day long. I've already decided to cut nuts out of my life because I binge on them and my pants have been getting tighter all week. I get the nut thing but does anyone have the same problem with sweet potatoes? Should I cut those out?
Moderators Tom Denham Posted December 8, 2012 Moderators Share Posted December 8, 2012 If you crave sweet potatoes and don't need to eat one at every meal, maybe you should cut them out for a while until you get to a better place.
Elechdub
Ugh. In a way this is so much harder than giving up sugar. I know that's bad for me so it's no big deal. But quitting something that's good for you? It's soooooo hard for me. I made it through one day without sweet potatoes and already my stomach looks less puffy. Maybe I'll give it a week and see how I feel. I wonder if I'm just super sensitive to starches or what...
Robin Strathdee
The sweet potatoes don't love me either, but I do well with pumpkin and other squashes. Maybe sub those in and see how you feel?
Elechdub
I looooove winter squashes. It didn't even occur to me that those are starchy veggies. Thanks Robin. I'll swap those in and see how it goes
