Spice it up

I am on day 8 and have been playing with some new recipes to make everything more tasty. Yesterday I made Magic Mushroom Powder from nomnompaleo http://nomnompaleo.com/post/105333542218/magic-mushroom-powder-diy-holiday-gift. I thought it might be hard to do, but it turns our the grocery store had dried porcini mushrooms and everything else was easily available. I used my coffee grinder which I only use for grinding seeds like sesame. I put it in last night's supper and wow! does it ever have a nice smokey flavour. I cut way back on the red pepper flakes, but still put in a bit.

Any other suggestions for sauces, condiments to make food taste better? That seems to be my biggest challenge at the moment. Am feeling soooo much better at day 8.

If you're willing to spend the money, there are quite a few very tasty store-bought condiments and sauces you can find. Here are some of my favorites (most of which I purchase online at Thrive Market): 

  • Tessemae's Organic BBQ Sauce 
  • Tessemae's Hot Buffalo Sauce 
  • Primal Kitchen Caesar Dressing (available on Thrive)
  • Primal Kitchen Green Goddess Dressing (available on Thrive)
  • Primal Kitchen Chipotle Lime Mayo (available on Thrive)
  • The New Primal Classic Marinade (available on Thrive) 

They can be expensive, but if you have the means and prefer to buy rather than make from scratch, there are a lot of Whole30 options out there these days. The @Whole30Approved Instagram feed features lots of pre-made options to buy. 

Otherwise, I find stuff from Mel Joulwan (the author of the Well Fed series) to be super, super flavorful. If you like deep, rich, exotic flavors, anything from her would be amazing. She has plenty of stuff online if you don't want, or aren't able, to purchase her books.

Thanks so much! Mostly I prefer to make things myself, so Mel sounds like a great resource. I figure if I have a few I can cycle through them so I don't get sick of them. And I'll have a look here and see if I can get any of the things you suggest.
