maryteam2
Hi, I saw a post, awhile ago, and I can't find it. Some sites list sweet potatoes as a nightshade and some don't. Since I have Hashimoto's, I want to stay away from the nightshades. However, if I can eat sweet potatoes, that would help a lot because I do P90X 5-6 times a week and I still feel hungry a lot. missmary
sweet potatoes are NOT a nightshade (I believe they are part of the marigold family?), although some people are sensitive to them. Nightshades include tomatoes, peppers, tomatillos, eggplant, tobacco (you weren't using that anyway, right?), potatoes and goji berries.
Susan W
Dr Google says they do not contain the nightshade alkaloids and are not in the nightshade family.

maryteam2
Oh, thank goodness. Well, I am going to probably start eating them on a regular basis then. I could use the extra energy from the carbs.
