Ktpickett
Every almond milk I've seen has lots of extra fillers and some sort of sugar. If I make my own almond milk, that should be okay to use, right? I haven't liked coconut milk in my coffee and think almond milk will be more tolerable. I'm preparing my kitchen (and mind) before starting my Whole 30 in May.
Susan W
Yes..as long as you aren't drinking big glasses of it and therefore shoving other things off of your plate.
Jtandi
you can use other types of nuts, too. I don't really like almond milk but I make a killer hazelnut milk
Mike Weiss
Jtandi could you put the recipe or instructions on how to make hazelnut milk on here? I would love to have coffee occasionally! Thank you!
Jtandi
Mike - I use 1 cup hazelnuts, 2 cups water, 3 dates, 1 or 2 pods vanilla bean. you can use other spices (cardemon, nutmeg & cinnamon makes a chai flavor, sometimes I add cinnamon), blend in my vitamix & strain! it only lasts about 4 or 5 days in the fridge so I like smaller batches. you don't have to soak the hazelnuts but then add a little more water depending on how thick you like it. YUM!
