kb0426
Wow! I had no idea there was a frozen plantain! As far as compliant, I say go for it! Prep wise - I am thinking this would work well mashed. How were you thinking about using it?
hiennnguyen
I was thinking of using it in a stir fry or as a side for chicken or beef?
kb0426
I would be curious how they turn out once you try them. I love plantains!
hiennnguyen
gosh plantains are seriously heavenly and as i was eating them today, i felt like i was cheating over and over! i had to go reread the box twice during dinner just to make sure they didn't contain crazy artificial flavors and preservatives, but nope, it just says "ripe plantains" in the ingredients! this is pretty exciting. i will always keep these in my freezer from now on
Susan W
So curious..they came in a box? Were they whole or sliced? Where did you get them?
hiennnguyen
they are Goya brand frozen. there are actually two types from goya-one type is cut into pieces and fried for you while the one I get is just the ripe bananas unpeeled. i actually found it at only one publix in town while the other ones sold the pre-fried ones! i don't think there is any dish that plantains are not perfect for *sigh*
