Jeff MacDonald
Hi! I'm on my second round of Whole30 now. Trying to do a lot better cooking. Finally read whole book etc. In the master recipies section for protien there is a paragraph that describes cooking ground meat. It says cook them with onion, salt and pepper and garlic powder. Then there is a grid/graph of "Ground meat skillet recipies" and it says the type of meat then the type of veggies. My question is: do i start ALL ground meats using the aforementioned method.. and then add things like ginger, or cinnamon etc?
Moderators Tom Denham Posted August 28, 2013 Moderators Share Posted August 28, 2013 I tend to add chopped onion, salt, and garlic powder to everything, but that is a matter of personal taste. I think it would taste good to add salt, garlic powder, and pepper as a base spice preparation and then to add "special" spices too.
Xandra
I add salt and a massive amount of kale and that's all. Chopped onions and peppers if they are available. But the beef/kale mix is my base for everything.

3girls
I have another question about master recipes with ground meat. Today is my first day of the whole 30. For these recipes do I cook the vegetables separately then add them to the cooked ground meat? thanks for your help!
