reimrno
My husband joined me for a Whole30 this January. We're doing well, no sugar withdrawal, which makes me feel pretty good abut our regular diet. My husband, a man who likes his snacks, misses crunchy, crispy food. Yes, we eat plenty of raw veggies, I tried baked plantain chips today…. just wondering if anyone has advice /ideas?

And the fries were not crispy. They were yummy, but no crunch. Any ideas?

Guest
I love to crisp up veggies like kale, carrots, and zucchini. It tends to slow me down in the morning!

Maybe cut them thinner and/or bake them a little longer.
Jinkse21
Try fried plantain chips! It's the first time I have had plantain and I will definitely keep eating them! I sliced them really thin then fried them in melted ghee until they were browned on each side. Once out of the pan, I sprinkled some ground cumin and salt on them. Yum! the thinner they were, the crisper they were.

Joanessa
i've recently discovered the outer layer leaves of brussels sprouts, tossed with a bit of olive oil, salt and pepper, placed on parchment papered baking sheet, at 350ish for 5 to 10 minutes, make great crunchy snack. cadarad
I add some chopped nuts to my meals often because I love a crunch texture also. It serves as a nice fat additive too!
