Rerunirret
I am looking for a little feedback on what folks have found to be economical and effective noodle making kitchen gadgets. I want to start making zucchini noodles but need to add to my kitchen gear.
Vian
The simplest way is to get a julienne peeler like this http://www.amazon.com/Kuhn-Rikon-Julienne-Protector-Stainless/dp/B0000CEWJD The fastest/most efficient way is to get a spiral slicer like this http://www.amazon.com/Paderno-World-Cuisine-A4982799-Tri-Blade/dp/B0007Y9WHQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1394594629&sr=1-1&keywords=spiral+slicer
AllyB
I got this peeler based on a recommendation from someone on this forum: http://www.amazon.com/Zyliss-30700-Julienne-Peeler/dp/B0018ICHH2/ref=sr_1_2?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1394620786&sr=1-2&keywords=julienne+peeler It works great and wasn't too expensive. It is very sharp, so you have to pay attention!
**Ann**
I swear by my spiralizer to make noodles. Its pretty fast too and I don't make noodles any other way. Check out this blog as it covers that basic "noodle" types, and can be inspirational for some recipes to use your noodles. it also talks about storage times, etc. From this blog, I now spiralize raw spaghetti squash and keep in fridge rather than cook it and scrape it first. This is not a whole 30 or paleo blog, but I think many of the recipes could be adapted if see one of her creations with spiralized noodles you like. I would like to try the "hamburger bun" that's made out of spiralized butternut squash. I want to try the sprialized mac and cheese for my kiddos too. http://www.inspiralized.com/
TessTurbo
I've tried knives, peelers, julienne slicers in two sizes, and for me, the winner is the spiral slicer. Hands down. Had to pull it out of the back of the cupboard for Whole30, but it's getting plenty of use again.
