on Day 5. Feeling feverish. Normal?

Hi everyone,

I am on Day 5 today. Feeling feverish and a little sore throat since yesterday.

Throughout these few days, I have been eating 3 meals and a few almonds during tea time.

My breakfast is always sweet potato, 1 hard boiled egg, 1 apple with 1 orange/ 1 kiwi.

Lunch is always steamed chicken with coconut oil and garlic, and 1 cup of veges ( different colors)

Dinner will be fish, 1.5 cups of vegs ( different colors) , 1 tablespoon of olive oil.

I drink 6 to 8 cups of water per day. Sleep for 7 to 8 hours per day.

I think I'm doing what I need to. However, I am just wondering is it normal to fall sick as this is how my body should release the toxic ?

You are not eating enough. Not nearly enough. Study the meal planning template and see where you need to be eating more protein, more fat, and more veggies. And we recommend 1/2 ounce of water per pound of body weight per day. So if you weigh 120 pounds, you would need to drink 60 ounces of water per day.

Feeling feverish and having a sore throat may mean that you have gotten sick.

What Tom said: the meal template recommends protein, veg and fat at every meal for best results. Fruit is optional: but don't let fruit push vegetables off your plate.

When eggs are your protein, the serving size is the number of eggs you can hold in one hand. For most folks, that's 3-4 eggs. The meal template outlines serving sizes for all the other meal components: eat at least the recommended amounts.

On the almonds at tea time, the idea is to only snack between your main meals if you are genuinely hungry (litmus test: you could eat something bland like steamed fish and broccoli). You want to avoid eating out of habit, just because it's tea time.  When you do snack, the recommended snack is a mini-meal of protein, veg and fat. Nuts are a fat source on a Whole30.

If you are sick, bone broth may be a good food to have right now. Hope you feel better soon: eat up!  :)

Thanks Chris! Regarding the eggs as my main source of protein, I do understand that it is depending on number of eggs one person can hold in one hand. I can hold 3 eggs at a time, but in my heart I am thinking, will I get high cholesterol of eating 3 eggs per day ?

I hope I feel better after a good good sleep. :)

You're welcome!

There has been LOTS of past discussion on the forum about eggs and cholesterol.

Oh, Nana.  This is not a diet and as Tom says above, you are severely limiting your intake.  Your entire volume for the day is very nearly what I eat at breakfast. If I had to live on what you're eating I'd A) kill someone and B) feel horrible!

Eat food. Then eat some more.  Nourish yourself.  Respect your body and know that food is not morals.  Existing on less and less food does not make you more virtuous.  Nourish the gorgeous body that God (or whomever you believe in) gave you.  Love it and respect it.

1-2 palms (length, width, depth) protein

1-3 cups veggies (more if you're using greens)

1-2 thumbs fat (more if it's avocado or olives)

Do this three times a day...more if you need it and definitely more during your leadup to menstruation if you need it.  Figure out how it feels to be nourished on adequate quantities of good, healthy and whole foods!

Hey everyone, Thank you so so much for all the suggestion and advice !

I am feeling okay after a good sleep!

For today's breakfast, a frittata with 2 eggs , 1 thumb size of olive oil, and 1 cup of veg, Fruits I have 2 palm size of fruits which have watermelon, melon and grapefruit. Nuts: 1 palm size of cashew and green peas.

I think I am eating enough today as I don't feel hungry?

Have a good day everyone.

Try to have more veggies than fruit in your meals. A serving size of fruit is a whole piece of fruit the size of your fist.

Add another egg.

The serving size of nuts is a closed handful.

Green peas, sadly, are not Whole30 compliant. Just don't have them again for the rest of your Whole30.
