kateminich
Hi all! I've dealt with acne all throughout my teenage years. However, at age 19 it took a turn for the worst. I developed painful cystic acne and have it to this day. (I'm almost 22.) After completing a whole30, my skin changed dramatically. Not perfect, but better than it ever has been. After my whole30, I fell off the wagon hard. Needless to say, the painful breakouts are back. Now that I'm ready to get a grip on my health and complete another whole30, I'm wondering if there are any other foods I could eliminate for even better results. My question is...is acne an autoimmune disease? Should I eliminate nightshades and eggs? Thanks. Kate Link to comment
MeadowLily
I've not heard that before or that it is. Nuts, too many fruits and dried fruits can affect the skin more than anything else that's on the compliant list. Link to comment
Krista Billows Rodriguez
Try adding a lot of leafy greens, I know that really helps my skin, instead of eliminating foods from the basic w30 plan right off the bat. You could add details about your skin to your log to see if you find any potential break out triggers. Link to comment
