Breetardio
I'm currently on day 9 of my whole30 and going well! The only problem is for the last few days I have had a really dry mouth! I drink about 2 liters of water a day too. So I really cannot work out why! Anyone care to help me work out why?!! Link to comment
Moderators Tom Denham Posted September 4, 2012 Moderators Share Posted September 4, 2012 Day time or night time? I have trouble with dry mouth at night. I don't know why, but I am curious. Link to comment

amandavilliers
Oh! I have the same issue mine is more in the morning and during the first couple miles of my run. I drink a ton of water thru the day, so I'm also stumped why this is happening! Link to comment

PattyP
I've had dry mouth too, most of the time on WHOLE30 and I am on day 28. Never had dry mouth before! Link to comment
Guest Andria
If you eat too low carb and put yourself into ketosis you can experience an unquenchable dry mouth. Low carb will deplete your glycogen stores and you will lose lots of water along with the glycogen (2 water molecules/1 glycogen molecule, I believe). Also, W30 eating is much lower in sodium than the SAD full of processed foods, therefore you may lose more water due to low sodium intake. With both scenarios you can drink all the water you want, but you will be urinating a lot of it away thus leading to the dry mouth feeling. Solution: Add more salt! Add more starchy carbs!
